RESUMO

As a natural drug delivery carrier with rough and porous surface and hollow core, yeast microcapsules have good safety, high targeting and high stability, and have excellent application prospects in oral drug delivery systems. Yeast cells can be treated and washed with acid-base and organic solvents to obtain loose and porous yeast microcapsules. Yeast microcapsules can encapsulate drugs through electrostatic interactions, passive diffusion, hydrophobic interaction and other methods. The surface of yeast microcapsules is mainly composed of β-glucan, which can maintain stability in the gastrointestinal environment; it can be recognized by the surface-related receptors of immune cells, thus activating the immune response, and can be transported to the lesion site with the movement of lymphocytes after being ingested. Yeast microcapsules are safe and very suitable for delivering vaccines, anti-inflammatory drugs, and anti-tumor drugs. They can not only achieve oral delivery of the aforementioned drugs, but also enhance drug efficacy and improve drug targeting. In the future, more research on systemic transport mechanisms or the development of more efficient combination drug delivery systems can be carried out to fully exhibit the clinical value of yeast microcapsules.

RESUMO

Non-exosomal non-coding RNAs (non-exo-ncRNAs) and exosomal ncRNAs (exo-ncRNAs) have been associated with the pathological development of myocardial infarction (MI). Accordingly, this analytical review provides an overview of current MI studies on the role of plasma non-exo/exo-ncRNAs. We summarize the features and crucial roles of ncRNAs and reveal their novel biological correlations via bioinformatics analysis. The following contributions are made: (1) we comprehensively describe the expression profile, competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network, and "pre-necrotic" biomarkers of non-exo/exo-ncRNAs for MI; (2) functional enrichment analysis indicates that the target genes of ncRNAs are enriched in the regulation of apoptotic signaling pathway and cellular response to chemical stress, etc.; (3) we propose an updated and comprehensive view on the mechanisms, pathophysiology, and biomarker roles of non-exo/exo-ncRNAs in MI, thereby providing a theoretical basis for the clinical management of MI.

RESUMO

Objective:To explore the relationship between carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) in females. Methods:The study involved 11337 women who visited the health check-up system in Health Management Center of a general hospital in Shandong province between January 2014 and December 2015. By grouping CEA by quartiles, logistic regression models were used to analyze the relationship between CEA and MetS and its components. Results:The prevalence of MetS was 16.4 %, and abnormal levels of CEA accounted for 7.1% of patients with MetS which exceeded the general physical examination population (3.2%). The level of CEA increased with the increase of the number of metabolic components. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that people with high levels of carcinoembryonic antigen were at higher risk for metabolic syndrome( χ2=18.374, P<0.01). Compared with the level of CEA in Q1, CEA levels in Q2, Q3, and Q4 were statistically related to MetS. The OR values were 1.25(95% CI 1.03-1.52), 1.25(95% CI 1.03-1.51) and 1.42(95% CI 1.17-1.72), respectively. Conclusion:For females, the study suggests that there is a relationship between CEA and MetS. The increased CEA level in patients with MetS should be carefully explained in clinical practice.
